The building can be full of people while no single person has continuous responsibility for one child’s location.
That is the first feature that separates Kyron’s case from a generic missing-person narrative: the last known setting offered both visibility and anonymity. Many people could notice a child; very few could know they were witnessing the last reliable moment.

A source-aware reconstruction asks three different questions. Was Kyron physically present at the science fair? Yes—the public photograph and surrounding accounts support that.
